The Green Season certainly is setting in here in Zululand! Just last week we had another 16ml of rain at Rhino River Lodge and the river was flowing once again. With the recent rains, everything is slowly starting to bloom and new life is everywhere you look. Wildlife sightings have been brilliant with some of the highlights including spotting four tiny cheetah cubs, a wonderful elephant interaction, and an extremely rare sighting of a striped polecat by ranger Murray! This was the first ever sighting of one in our game reserve, which goes to show just how special this was. Sadly, due to all the excitement of the sighting, everyone forgot to take photos. However, the same polecat was spotted in the same area a day later by another ranger on the reserve! Hopefully, someone will manage to capture a photo soon, and if you’re joining us for a holiday soon, make sure to keep those cameras ready! You never know what the bush will surprise you with next.

MSUNDUZE RIVER FLOWING
After recent rains, the Msunduze River began to flow! This is always so great for guests to witness as it doesn’t happen that often, and the splendor of it can be enjoyed from the comfort of the lodge deck.
CUTE CHEETAH CUB SIGHTING
With the fuzzy fur coats and playful natures, cheetah cubs are some of the cutest cubs to witness in the wild! We are so excited to have these little guys in the reserve and look forward to more sightings of them. Photo by Ranger Vicky Wallace.
