Here at SafariKZN we have been encouraging and promoting travel to South Africa and in particular the province of KwaZulu Natal for around twenty years. In 2018 we formed a partnership so we could offer a full travel agent service. From our side you get our 25 years plus of travel experience in South Africa. To get the best from your holiday we will plan with you. You will get first-hand knowledge of places to stay, from back packers to 5-star luxury lodges. If there is somewhere or something of particular interest to you, we will help to get you there. If there is a wild animal you have dreamt of seeing in the wild, we will guide to a reserve that will give you the best chance of a sighting. We can plan routes, advise on road conditions, and recommend places to stop and even shop. From Emma you will get an exceptional travel agent booking service, from an experienced world traveller, that can include flights, cars and accommodation. Emma will be your personal consultant, there for you through whole procedure, with the backing of Travel Counsellors.

Beach, berg, bush & battlefield self-drive: This is a hugely popular road trip option that we can tinker with to get the best options for you. Spend a few days in the beach town of Umhlanga where you can relax, stroll the promenade and take a swim in the Indian Ocean. There is also a great selection of bars, pubs and restaurants. Head inland and breathe in the clean Drakensberg Mountain air. Walk, hike or climb. Here you will find, in caves & overhangs, ancient San rock art. Keep looking up and you might be lucky enough to spot the rare, bearded vulture. In the battlefield region you will find many sites from both the Anglo Zulu and Boer War. Visit Rorke’s Drift made famous by the film Zulu. Let a guide bring to life the story of the gallant defence of the mission station. Walk in the footsteps of Winston Churchill and Mahatma Gandhi to the summit of Spionkop. The men who gave their lives here are still here, buried in shallow graves covered in rocks. Come face to face with Africa’s iconic wildlife during your safari. Be guided around the African bush where big cats, lions and cheetahs, roam and hunt. You will see the tallest and largest of land mammals, giraffes and elephants, plus a mass of other animals and birds. Small Group Tours: There are several options, subject to availability, taking in many of KwaZulu Natal’s attractions. These include the city of Durban, the beautiful Midlands, the south coast and its miles of pristine beaches. Anglo Zulu and Boer war battlefields are on many routes plus other historical sites including the Nelson Mandela Capture Site Museum. Two world heritage sites, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Maloti Drakensberg Mountains plus Sani Pass leading to the mountain kingdom Lesotho are options. In Zululand you can cruise the St Lucia estuary inhabited by large populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Here to, in Zululand, there are safari options on offer in an area world famous for rhino conservation. Tours and prices available by request.

South African Railway Journeys: Explore South Africa in style and luxury by train with many options from Rovos Rail and the Shongolola Express. Be inspired by great journeys: African Trilogy, Southern Cross, African Collage. By rail South Africa, the world in one country, really opens up to you. You can travel from Pretoria to Cape Town. There are options to visit Durban and Port Elizabeth. Packages available by request.

Above are just a few of the many options, ideas and itineraries available to you. We are here to help and plan with you. There are no limits to your travels in South Africa. Previous clients have road tripped from Johannesburg, via KwaZulu Natal to Port Elizabeth and on to Cape Town. Others have taken in Kruger Park and Addo Elephant Park. You can mix in road, rail, cruises and houseboats. Family adventures can include zip lining looking down at grazing zebra and wildebeest. Off road scooter through herds of impala.
