From a young age, Kelly has always had a passion for visiting exciting countries & is very fortunate to have travelled the world extensively, including several trips to Africa.
After working in the travel industry for 4 years, she took time out to see the world in 2000, spending time in Asia which included walking the Great Wall of China, watching the sunrise over the temple of Ankor Wat in Cambodia and island hopping around the beautiful southern beaches of Thailand. After a year back-packing around Australia, Kelly travelled through New Zealand, the Pacific islands & the west coast of America before heading back home to Cambridgeshire, UK.
Here, she spent a further 7 years working in travel, helping to inspire clients with her knowledge and arranging tailor-made holidays.
During this time, Kelly continued her love of adventure through shorter trips. Taking in the amazing sights of the Ngorongo Crater & Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, relaxing on the beautiful sandy beaches of Zanzibar, white water rafting down the mighty Zambezi river in Zimbabwe and of course, searching for the ‘Big Five’ in South Africa’s game reserves, cage diving with Great White sharks and driving the picturesque Garden Route in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
Kelly’s second big trip came in 2008 when, along with her partner of 19 years, she decided to take a career break and head off for an 18-month adventure through Central and South America. Starting in the vibrant Mexico City, they began their journey by the notorious ‘Chicken busses, making their way through Central America to Panama, taking in some of the most wonderful cultures and sights. Next was South America where they spent time sleeping in the Amazon jungle, joining in the celebrations of the famous Rio Carnival, the unforgettable natural beauty of Patagonia and the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru.
Kelly now works as an independent travel consultant for Travel Counsellors, an international company established in 1994, which has offices in 7 countries around the world.
